Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite has been rewarded for his strong start to the season with a place in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the upcoming Nations League fixtures. The call-up follows a period of significant injury setbacks for the 24-year-old.
Branthwaite credits a "complex" rehabilitation programme in Germany for his return to fitness and the national team. He attended the MYOS sports and health clinic in Munich at the start of the summer, where a team analysed links between his injuries, brain, and movement patterns.
The centre-half, who was restricted to 10 appearances last season due to hamstring issues, has been ever-present in the Premier League this season. He made his England debut as a substitute in a win against Bosnia and Herzegovina in June 2024.
Branthwaite expressed his pride at the call-up, stating it had been a target since his injury struggles. He hopes to demonstrate his ability to be part of the England squad.
