Brighton have comfortably secured their place in the Conference League league phase, triumphing 4-0 over Tromso in their play-off second leg at the Amex Stadium. This commanding performance followed a 0-0 draw in Norway last week, where the Seagulls had 25 attempts at goal but failed to convert.

Fabian Hurzeler's side showcased a more ruthless edge on home turf, with Charalampos Kostoulas, Maxim De Cuyper, and Mats Wieffer all finding the net in the first half to establish a firm lead. Olivier Boscagli then added a deflected fourth goal late in the game, sealing Brighton's progression.

The victory comes on the heels of a 4-0 Premier League win against Aston Villa on Sunday. Ahead of kick-off, Brighton also unveiled new Algeria left-back Jaouen Hadjam, who joined from Swiss champions Young Boys. A minute's applause was held in memory of former manager Mike Bailey, who passed away last week at 84.

Brighton made two changes from the Villa match, with Kostoulas and Matt O’Riley stepping in for the injured Georginio Rutter and Jack Hinshelwood. The team will now look ahead to Sunday’s top-flight fixture against Chelsea.
