Brydon Carse to face no charges over alleged assault, police confirm

England bowler Brydon Carse will face no charges following an investigation into an alleged assault, Derbyshire Police have confirmed. The police force stated that their investigation into reports of an assault in Derby city centre has been closed.

Officers attended Molly Malones in the Wardwick, Derby, in the early hours of Sunday, August 23. Carse was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly before being "de-arrested" after agreeing to depart.

Derbyshire Police said that subsequent enquiries were made regarding the assault allegations. However, after the alleged victim was identified and spoken to, no further action was taken.

The matter has now been passed to the independent Cricket Regulator, which will assess whether Carse has a disciplinary issue to address concerning his conduct.
