Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is expected to be out for three to four weeks with a grade two hamstring injury, according to multiple media reports on Sunday. However, reports also suggest Williams could return sooner, with head coach Ben Johnson noting the quarterback's history as a quick healer.
Williams sustained the injury during the fourth quarter of Chicago’s 9-3 defeat to the Minnesota Vikings last Sunday and has since missed three consecutive practice sessions. He has been ruled out of the upcoming Monday night game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
If Williams were to miss three games, he would be in line to return for the game against the Atlanta Falcons on 18 October. The New England Patriots are scheduled to visit the Bears the following week. The 24-year-old has started 36 consecutive regular-season games since being drafted first overall in 2024.
