Dominic Calvert-Lewin was instrumental as Leeds United triumphed over Newcastle United with a 4-1 win at Elland Road, propelling them to third in the Premier League table. Calvert-Lewin netted a trademark header and a calm finish on the floor, bringing his total against Newcastle to eight goals, more than against any other opponent.

Noah Okafor contributed Leeds' fourth goal and set up Ao Tanaka for the opener. Jayden Bogle was credited with Leeds' second goal, which took a final touch off him after he had twice forced saves from Newcastle goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek.

Newcastle's defence, particularly Malick Thiaw and Sven Botman, struggled to contain Calvert-Lewin. Substitute Bazoumana Toure scored a consolation goal for Newcastle, who saw Matias Fernandez-Pardo make his full debut following a £51.4m move from Lille.
