Carly Rae Jepsen has hinted that her son, Ilya, may have been named after the character Ilya Rozanov from the HBO drama Heated Rivalry. Speaking in an interview, Jepsen said of the show, "Ilya is the name of my son. Maybe, not maybe because of that show."
The singer also expressed her desire to write a song for the second season of Heated Rivalry, after a budget constraint prevented her from contributing to the first season. Season one, based on Rachel Reid's Game Changers books, premiered last November.
Jepsen's forthcoming double LP, 'Day And Night', is scheduled for release on September 18. She collaborated with several artists, including Noonie Bao and Patrik Berger, and co-wrote songs with her husband, musician-producer Cole M.G.N. The couple married last October and welcomed their son in March.
Jepsen described the album as being "about that relationship: [us] falling in love and deciding to make a family together." She added that writing love songs about her husband and having him participate in the process was "a really beautiful process."
