A landlord in Central London is seeking urgent advice on recovering possession of a property reportedly being used for short-term holiday accommodation. The house was let on an Assured Shorthold Tenancy, and the landlord discovered evidence suggesting it was not being used as the tenants' home shortly after the tenancy began.
The landlord reported finding a cleaner preparing the house for guests, commercial quantities of linen and towels, an electronic keypad lock, and few personal belongings. The property was also reportedly advertised on Booking.com, and guests confirmed booking through the platform.
The tenancy agreement is said to expressly prohibit subletting and short-term holiday letting. However, the tenants have denied any breach and have refused to surrender the tenancy. The landlord's immediate priority is to recover possession of the property as quickly and lawfully as possible.
