Residents of Woodland Terrace in Charlton are still unable to return home, nearly two months after a partial roof façade collapse on 22 August. The incident, which happened at approximately 18:30 BST, affected 14 privately owned properties.

No injuries were reported, but several properties were evacuated. Residents have been told they cannot return until the buildings are declared safe. Greenwich Council stated that work to remove dangerous masonry is under way, with inspections to follow.

Some residents, including Ben Carew and Jane Fisher, have reported difficulties with insurance claims, with some still waiting for decisions. A crowdfunding campaign has been set up for homeowners facing significant costs and uncertainty over repairs.

Concerns about heavy vibration and cracking were raised by residents before the collapse. Developer Lovell, carrying out regeneration work nearby, stated that two independent structural engineering assessments identified "longstanding structural issues" with the parapet and a combination of factors that may have contributed to its failure, but did not identify the nearby Maryon works as a cause.
