Robin Hood actor's working Dalek to be auctioned for daughter's care

A life-sized, working Dalek from the collection of the late Tim Pollard, Nottingham's official Robin Hood, is set to be auctioned. Proceeds from the sale will go towards supporting Pollard's 12-year-old daughter.

  • Tim Pollard, who portrayed Nottingham's Robin Hood from 1996 until his death in 2025, owned a collection of over 1,500 memorabilia items.
  • Among the items being auctioned is a life-sized, operational Dalek with joystick controls, signed by Doctor Who cast and crew.
  • The collection is being sold by Pollard's father-in-law, Stephen Plummer, with proceeds intended for the care of Pollard's surviving daughter.

A working Dalek, previously owned by Tim Pollard, Nottingham's official Robin Hood, is among more than 1,500 items from his collection being put up for auction. Mr Pollard, who died in 2025, was known for his portrayal of the legendary outlaw from 1996.

The life-sized Dalek is operational, complete with motors and joystick controls, and its helmet has been signed by multiple members of the Doctor Who cast and crew, including Nicholas Briggs and Barnaby Edwards. It is scheduled to be the first item to go under the hammer on Thursday.

The collection is being sold at Derbyshire-based Hansons Auctioneers by Mr Pollard's father-in-law, Stephen Plummer, who manages his estate. Mr Plummer stated that the proceeds from the auction will go towards the care of Mr Pollard's 12-year-old daughter.

Other items in the collection include a limited-edition studio-scale Eagle Transporter from Space: 1999 and various South African artifacts. Mr Plummer noted that Mr Pollard's passion for collecting stemmed from his work with Nottinghamshire companies like Games Workshop and Citadel Miniatures in the 1980s, as well as his interest in sci-fi and African art.
