  • Jordan Henderson has signed for Chelsea.
  • Henderson expressed admiration for Chelsea's manager and ownership's commitment to success.
  • The move sees Henderson become teammates with Danny Welbeck again, 16 years after their time at Sunderland.

Jordan Henderson has completed a transfer to Chelsea, continuing his journey through various clubs since departing Liverpool. This move sees him reunite with Danny Welbeck, who also recently joined the Stamford Bridge side.

Henderson, 36, praised Chelsea's management and ownership, stating, “Given the size of the club, the manager, who I have great admiration for, and the quality of the players, this was a huge opportunity I couldn’t turn down.” He added that he was “so impressed with how much the ownership want Chelsea to be successful and move in the right direction.”

The transfer brings Henderson and Welbeck together as teammates once more, 16 years after they played alongside each other at Sunderland in November 2010. Welbeck, then 19 and on loan from Manchester United, scored in Sunderland's 3-0 victory at Stamford Bridge, with Henderson, then 20, playing in midfield.
