Chilwell late winner seals Crystal Palace comeback at Fulham

Ben Chilwell scored a late winner as Crystal Palace came from behind to beat Fulham 3-2 at Craven Cottage, securing new boss Pierre Sage his first win.

  • Crystal Palace beat Fulham 3-2 away, with Ben Chilwell scoring the winner three minutes after coming on as a 74th-minute substitute.
  • Tyrick Mitchell scored twice for Palace, while Josh King and Cesar Palacios scored for Fulham.
  • The victory was the first for new Palace manager Pierre Sage.

Ben Chilwell marked his return to Crystal Palace with a late winner as they came from behind to beat Fulham 3-2 at Craven Cottage.

The deadline-day signing from Strasbourg, who spent part of last season on loan at Selhurst Park, was introduced as a 74th-minute substitute and scored three minutes later.

Josh King opened the scoring for Fulham in the 11th minute, but Tyrick Mitchell equalised before half-time. Cesar Palacios restored Fulham's lead just before the break, only for Mitchell to strike again after the interval and Chilwell to seal the win.

The result gives new Palace boss Pierre Sage his first victory, while Fulham remain without a win this season.

Why this matters: The win gives Crystal Palace their first victory under new manager Pierre Sage, while Fulham's winless start to the season continues.
