Conor Benn has issued an emotional statement following his loss to Ryan Garcia on Saturday, where he suffered a second-round stoppage in Las Vegas. This marked Benn's first knockout defeat, occurring during his first world title challenge for the WBC welterweight belt.

Garcia floored Benn with a right hook before the referee intervened. Benn, who had previously lost once, was fighting at welterweight for the first time in two-and-a-half years.

Writing on X on Monday, Benn stated he does not currently have an answer to what is next for his career, adding that his immediate priority is spending time with his children. He thanked fight fans for their support, particularly those who travelled to Las Vegas or stayed up to watch.

Benn's fight with Garcia was notable as both boxers have previously navigated drug-test controversies. Garcia received a one-year ban in 2024 after failing a drug test, while Benn was provisionally suspended in 2022 due to two failed tests, before being cleared in 2024. Both maintained their innocence.
