Young people across the country are reportedly choosing to forgo dating because of the significant expense involved. This trend has been highlighted in multiple newspaper articles published over the last two weeks.
The New York Times, for instance, noted that the potential cost of a dinner date, estimated at $150 or more for two entrées, two drinks, an appetizer, and tip, is considered too high for many Gen Z singles.
However, some suggest that expensive dinners are not the only option. Affordable alternatives for dates include free museums, art galleries, parks, and beaches. The idea is that any activity can be a date if it allows for an assessment of compatibility.
