One of Wales' most celebrated actresses, Dame Siân Phillips, is stepping back from full-scale stage acting. The 93-year-old made the decision after experiencing memory issues during rehearsals for a recent production.
Phillips reportedly struggled to remember her lines while preparing for Atonement at Chichester Festival Theatre earlier this year, according to The Times. Her career has spanned more than 80 years across stage, television, and film.
Despite this, Phillips plans to continue performing in smaller projects. These include her show It's All Greek and an appearance in Samuel Beckett's Rockaby for Michael Sheen's Welsh National Theatre next year.
