The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) has opened registration for its annual conference, a free virtual event scheduled for 6 and 7 October. The conference aims to bring together the safeguarding community to share expertise and improve protection outcomes.
The two-day event will feature insights from safeguarding experts through keynote speeches, workshops, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions. Day one will cover safeguarding, legislative changes, and partnership working, including topics like mandatory reporting and safer recruitment.
Day two will focus on information sharing, digital transformation, and public protection, with sessions on safeguarding adults, the DBS Strategy, and the role of regulators. Notable speakers include Dr Gillian Fairfield, DBS Chairman, and Dr Jeff James CBE, DBS Chief Executive. The DBS has also partnered with organisations such as the Information Commissioner’s Office and the Ann Craft Trust for specific sessions.
