Data from Luminate indicates that Parton's songs were streamed a total of 26.3 million times on the day of her death, a significant rise from 1.2 million streams the week prior. Popular tracks such as 'Jolene' accumulated 2.7 million streams, while '9 to 5' gained 2.3 million streams, and her duet with Kenny Rogers, 'Islands in the Stream', reached 1.8 million streams.
Parton had previously cancelled a planned Vegas residency in May due to health issues, which she had reportedly neglected while caring for her husband, Carl Dean, before his death last year. Musicians including Jack White, The King's Guard, Orville Peck, and Harry Styles have since paid tribute by covering her songs.
