Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley are set to face off once more for the WBO heavyweight world title on 17 October at the O2. This highly anticipated rematch follows their initial brutal contest in May, which ended in the eleventh round.
In their first fight, Dubois, the challenger, was knocked down in the first and third rounds. However, he recovered to turn the tide in the sixth round, eventually stopping Wardley in the eleventh. Wardley activated the rematch clause after his loss.
The upcoming bout marks a significant occasion as it will be the first time two British heavyweights have met in a rematch for a world title. It also represents the third world heavyweight championship fight involving British boxers to take place in Britain this year.
