Erling Haaland was substituted in the 67th minute of Norway's 2-1 Nations League defeat against Portugal on Sunday. The Manchester City forward signalled to the bench that he needed to be replaced and was seen limping on the pitch prior to his withdrawal.
Norway coach Ståle Solbakken revealed he had a "heart-to-heart conversation" with Haaland regarding his heavy workload before the match. Solbakken indicated that Haaland was tired after playing full matches in Norway's opening three Nations League fixtures and a busy start to the domestic campaign with City.
Solbakken did not confirm an injury, but the incident has raised fitness concerns ahead of Haaland's return to Manchester City. City's first match after the international break is against Liverpool on Sunday.
