Condé Nast Traveller editors have compiled a list of recommended UK hotels for staycations over the summer Bank Holiday weekends. The selections range from coastal escapes to city breaks and rural retreats.

Among the recommendations are the new treehouses at Calcot Manor & Spa in Gloucestershire, which were visited by a commerce editor on the first weekend in August. The hotel is described as family-focused, with amenities catering to both children and parents.

The Candover in Hampshire, a pub with rooms, is also featured, noted for its food and hospitality. It is located a 90-minute journey from London and offers charming rooms with antique furnishings and four-poster beds.

Other editor picks include Gara Rock in Salcombe for a coastal escape, The Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire for an easy journey from London, and St. Clement, 180 The Thames, in London for a new city break.
