Eight people have been questioned on suspicion of attempted murder after a multiple stabbing at a KFC restaurant on Bromley High Street in south-east London. The arrests include a 21-year-old man and seven boys aged between 14 and 17.
Emergency services, including the Met Police, ambulance service, and air ambulance, were called to the scene at approximately 14:15 BST on Thursday following reports of an altercation. Four individuals – a 21-year-old man and three boys aged 14 to 17 – were taken to hospital with stab wounds. The man's condition was initially critical but is now not considered life-threatening.
The Met Police stated that these four individuals, along with four other boys aged 14 to 17, have since been arrested and remain in custody. A KFC spokesperson confirmed a "serious incident" occurred at its Bromley High Street restaurant, with the altercation beginning inside, and stated the firm is assisting police.
An eyewitness reported seeing a fight break out and a man with a machete running from the scene. A local business owner also observed a fight spilling onto the street. Detectives are treating the incident as an isolated event and officers are working to establish the full circumstances, with an increased police presence in the area.
