Eight Teenagers Charged with Murder After Queensland Party Attack

Eight teenagers have been charged with murder following an alleged attack at an Airbnb gathering in Bahrs Scrub, Queensland, which resulted in the death of a 21-year-old man.

Eight teenagers have been charged with murder after an alleged attack at an Airbnb gathering in Bahrs Scrub, Logan, Queensland, police said. A 21-year-old man died six days after being found unconscious with head injuries on 26 July.

Detective Inspector Ian Galpin stated on Monday that police allege the group had a "preconceived plan" to inflict harm, arriving at the party armed with various weapons. The incident also reportedly left several vehicles destroyed and a home extensively damaged.

Four teenagers, two aged 18 and two aged 19, were initially charged with murder on 6 August. Another four, a 17-year-old and three 18-year-olds, were located and charged on Sunday, 9 August. Police have indicated that further arrests are possible as the investigation continues.

Police liaison officers and community leaders are working to prevent any retaliation, with Det Insp Galpin stating that community cooperation has been crucial to the investigation.
