The Emmy Awards, considered the US television industry's most prestigious event, will be held on Monday in Los Angeles. Several TV shows, including Beef, Hacks, Pluribus, and The Pitt, are nominated for awards.
Among the British nominees are Carey Mulligan, Matthew Rhys, and Jack Lowden. Matthew Rhys is nominated in two lead actor categories for Widow's Bay and The Beast in Me.
Viral sensation Heated Rivalry, starring Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams, is not eligible for this year's Emmys. The ice hockey romance did not qualify as it is a fully financed Canadian production lacking the necessary US involvement for recognition at the awards. It will instead be eligible for the International Emmys in November.
The ceremony will be hosted by US actress Mariska Hargitay. Two categories have been merged this year, with best talk series and best scripted variety series now combined into outstanding variety series.
Winners at last weekend's Creative Arts Emmys included Linda Cardellini and David Harbour for DTF St Louis, and British star Julie Andrews for best voiceover performance in Bridgerton.
