England's netballers were outclassed by Australia, losing 68-50 in their bid for a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games. The match followed England's semi-final loss to New Zealand on Saturday morning.

Australia, who had been defeated by Jamaica on Saturday afternoon, recovered to secure the bronze. The Diamonds, four-time tournament winners, had previously been in every Commonwealth final.

England initially took a lead, but Australia found their rhythm to establish a 19-11 lead in the first quarter. Australia maintained their advantage, leading 35-24 at half-time and eventually winning by 18 points.

Jamaica, who have never won netball gold at the Games, are set to play two-time champions New Zealand in the gold-medal match later today.
