Eighteen-year-old Thomas Rew has earned his maiden call-up for England, being selected for the white-ball tour of Australia scheduled for next month. Rew, a wicketkeeper-batter from Somerset, is one of four uncapped players in the T20 squad.
Jacob Bethell is also set to return to the squad after recovering from a knee injury. However, fast bowler Brydon Carse remains unavailable, awaiting the outcome of a disciplinary matter following an arrest in August.
The four-week tour, which follows an upcoming tri-series in Pakistan, will include three One-Day Internationals and five Twenty20 matches. The ODIs are scheduled to begin on 13 November.
The tour will see fast bowlers Jofra Archer, Josh Tongue, Gus Atkinson, and Sonny Baker participate in the ODIs before shifting their focus to the Test tour of South Africa. Captain Harry Brook, Jordan Cox, and Bethell are expected to play in both series before joining the South Africa Tests.
