England concluded the second day of the first Test against Pakistan at Headingley with a significant lead, reaching 366 for eight in response to Pakistan's 171. This gives England a lead of 195 runs.

Harry Brook, the world's No 1-ranked batter, was dismissed for 91 runs, narrowly missing his 11th Test century and a first at his home ground. He was bowled by Ali Usman.

Despite Brook's dismissal and two further wickets by Usman before stumps, England's position was bolstered by half-centuries from Jordan Cox (73), Joe Root (66), and Dan Lawrence (51).
