England has taken a 23-run lead over Pakistan by the close of play on day one of the third Test at Edgbaston. After winning the toss, England dismissed Pakistan for 133 in just under 34 overs.
Josh Tongue led the bowling attack with four wickets, while Ollie Robinson and Jofra Archer each claimed three. Robinson's first wicket of the day saw him pass 100 Test wickets, becoming the first Englishman since Ian Botham to achieve this with a sub-20 average.
In their reply, England reached 156 for four. Emilio Gay hit his third Test half-century, scoring 60 from 114 balls. Harry Brook remained unbeaten on 52, contributing to a 105-run stand with Gay.
Pakistan's 21-year-old newcomer Razaullah made an impact, dismissing Joe Root with his fourth Test delivery and finishing with two for 42.
