England has clinched a series victory against Pakistan, triumphing by 194 runs in the second Test at Lord's. The win, secured with a match to spare, marks England's first series success since late 2024, and captain Joe Root's first in over five years.

Pace bowlers Ollie Robinson and Josh Tongue were instrumental in rolling over Pakistan. Robinson delivered match figures of 8-35, with 4-24 in the second innings, while Tongue contributed 3-46 as Pakistan were bowled out for 194.

The new-ball pairing of Robinson and Jofra Archer, who had only played together at Sussex before this series, combined for 24 wickets across four innings. Saud Shakeel was Pakistan's top scorer in the second innings with 97 runs.

Why this matters: This series victory provides England with some breathing space after a challenging summer, and it is Joe Root's first series win as captain in over five years.
