Everton's owner, The Friedkin Group, is exploring the potential sale of a controlling interest in the club. A statement released on Friday indicated that new investment options are being considered.
The Friedkin Group completed its takeover of Everton in December 2024, bringing an end to the Farhad Moshiri era. During their tenure, the group oversaw the club's transition to a new stadium.
An Everton statement noted that when The Friedkin Group became custodians, the club faced significant financial uncertainty. The immediate priority was to provide stability, investment, and support, including helping to complete the stadium.
The statement added: "With that foundation now safely in place, the time is right to consider the next chapter for Everton." The group will only consider interest from parties believed to be the right stewards to take the club forward and build on established momentum.
