Everton's owners, The Friedkin Group (TFG), are exploring the potential sale of the club, less than two years after acquiring control. The American group, which completed a takeover in 2024 in a deal believed to be worth in excess of £400m, is considering new investment options, including the sale of a controlling interest.
In a statement, TFG indicated that after prioritising stability, investment, and the opening of Everton's new stadium last year, the time is now right "to consider the next chapter." They stated that when they became custodians, the club faced significant financial uncertainty and challenges, both on and off the pitch.
The immediate priority for TFG was to provide stability, investment, and support to secure the club's future, including helping to complete the new stadium. With that foundation now in place, the group believes it is the right moment to consider the club's future direction.
