Former tennis professional Roberto Bautista Agut has made a striking return to competitive sport, scoring two goals on his debut for Spanish seventh-tier side CD Els Ibarsos. The 38-year-old's impressive start came in a 4-2 pre-season victory, just over a month after he retired from his tennis career.

Bautista Agut, a former Wimbledon semi-finalist, expressed his happiness on Instagram, stating, "It's a new stage of life that's making me very happy." He added, "May the good start continue!"

The Spaniard's move to football marks a return to the sport he played in Villarreal's youth teams until the age of 14, before he chose to pursue tennis. CD Els Ibarsos, based about 60 miles north of Valencia, presented Bautista Agut to fans before his debut and stated they are looking forward to watching him play for a "whole season."
