Football Association of Wales (FAW) chief football officer David Adams has supported Wales boss Craig Bellamy's decision to engage in talks with Burnley during the summer regarding the possibility of becoming Scott Parker's successor at Turf Moor.
Bellamy, whose contract with the FAW runs until after Euro 2028, has openly expressed his ambition to manage at club level in the future. Despite the discussions, Bellamy chose to remain in his role with the national team.
Adams, who held regular discussions with Burnley chairman Alan Pace, stated that the FAW was content for Bellamy to explore the opportunity. He also revealed that the FAW is continuously assessing potential managerial candidates as part of its ongoing succession planning process, with a preference for former international players connected to Wales.
Separately, Adams hailed the news that Cardiff's Principality Stadium will host the women's Champions League final in 2029 as a "game-changer" for the nation, highlighting the significant growth in women's football.
