Federal agents shot an individual in New York City on Thursday, the New York Police Department (NYPD) has confirmed. The individual was conscious and transported to a hospital, according to a brief statement from the NYPD.
The shooting took place at approximately 4pm in the Marble Hill neighbourhood of the Bronx. The NYPD stated they were not present at the scene when the shooting occurred.
The specific federal agency involved in the shooting has not been identified by the NYPD. New York Governor Kathy Hochul stated she had been briefed on the incident and expects federal authorities to provide a "full and transparent accounting of the circumstances surrounding this incident."
