Former Real Madrid captain Dani Carvajal has joined Getafe on a free transfer. The Madrid-born right-back had been without a club since his contract at the Bernabeu expired in June.
Carvajal, 34, spent 23 years with Real Madrid, securing 27 titles, including six Champions League wins. He has signed a deal with Getafe, who are currently 11th in La Liga, until June next year.
Getafe stated they welcomed his "experience and leadership", despite Carvajal having struggled with injuries in recent seasons, including a cruciate ligament tear in October 2024 and another serious knee injury a year later.
