Four people have been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice in a case relating to a murder 32 years ago. The arrests concern the death of Doreen Morris, who was stabbed to death with a fork in 1994 after disturbing a burglary at her home in Penrhyn Uchaf, Anglesey, according to a 2023 inquest.
North Wales Police confirmed that a man and three women, all from north Wales, were arrested on Wednesday morning. The force stated that advances in forensic science and a review of evidence led to this development, and the Morris family has been informed.
Senior review officer Mark Pierce said that "forensic results, combined with a detailed review of witness evidence, have provided grounds to interview four people on suspicion of perverting the course of justice." He also appealed for anyone with information about the case to come forward.
Joseph Carl Westbury was found not guilty of Doreen Morris's murder in 1995 after denying breaking into her bungalow. He died by suicide in May 2016.
