Police in Houma, Louisiana, are searching for a person of interest after a series of stabbings resulted in at least four fatalities and left another individual in critical condition in hospital.
The Terrebonne parish sheriff’s office identified Kaegan Jude Solet, 47, as a person of interest. Deputies were initially called to the Ashland Drive area of Houma, where they found a juvenile with apparent stab wounds. This victim was airlifted to an out-of-area hospital and remains in critical condition.
As the investigation progressed, authorities later discovered four deceased victims in a nearby home. The current investigation is ongoing, with detectives continuing to gather evidence.
Solet was previously arrested in 2019 in connection with a separate stabbing incident in Houma. At that time, he was accused of repeatedly stabbing a 59-year-old woman at a hotel following an argument and was booked on one count of attempted second-degree murder. The identification of a person of interest does not constitute an arrest or criminal charge in the current case.
