Cricket livestreaming company FrogBox has sold out its kits for the current year and is now accepting pre-orders for the next season. The Australia-based company, which provides livestreaming kits with a recommended retail price of £2,380, is expanding its operations.

FrogBox currently serves 1,850 clubs, primarily located in the UK and Australia. The company has partnerships with the England and Wales Cricket Board, Cricket Australia, Cricket Scotland, and Netherlands Cricket, which allows access to live scoring data for on-screen graphics and automated highlights.

Rob Knee, chief executive of FrogBox, stated that the company captures a potential quarter of a million highlights every week, streaming over 1,000 games each weekend. Over 3 million cricket clips have been posted online using their service. Clubs have reportedly used the footage to secure sponsorships and funding.

Knee highlighted the benefit of capturing special moments for players, such as first runs, wickets, hat-tricks, and centuries. He also noted that the technology allows parents, family, and friends who cannot attend games to still feel connected, and enables different club teams to watch each other play.

Why this matters: The increasing popularity of livestreaming services like FrogBox is changing how amateur cricket matches are viewed and recorded, offering new ways for clubs to engage with communities and secure funding.

What this means for you: If you are involved with a cricket club, livestreaming services could offer new ways to capture game moments, engage with supporters, and potentially attract sponsorship.
