AI hyperscaler Nscale has doubled its London office space, securing an additional floor in its Mayfair headquarters. This expansion provides capacity for up to 300 staff.
The tech startup, which develops data centres for AI firms, has seen its UK workforce grow significantly. From 70 employees in June last year, the number has increased to nearly 450 today, with approximately half regularly commuting to the London office. Over 40 per cent of these roles are high-skilled technical positions.
Nscale, valued at $25bn in its latest funding round, has also committed $1m in compute to the British Open-ended Learning & Discovery Lab (Bold). Bold is a £30m UK government initiative supporting AI research, collaborating with academics from Oxford, UCL, and Imperial College. Nscale stated it is working to finalise infrastructure and operational arrangements with Bold, while exploring broader technical and educational collaboration opportunities.
