Team GB secured three medals on the opening day of the European Aquatics Championships in Paris. The men's and women's 4x200m freestyle relay teams both collected gold medals.
The men's 4x200m relay team, comprising James Guy, Duncan Scott, Matt Richards, and Jack McMillan, finished first in seven minutes 1.52 seconds. The women's team, with Freya Anderson, Leah Schlosshan, Abbie Wood, and Freya Colbert, also powered to first place with a time of 7:45.93.
Max Litchfield secured a bronze medal in the men's 400m individual medley, finishing in 4:11.58. Ilya Borodin claimed gold in this event with a championship record.
Separately, Jack Kelly, representing Ireland, twice broke the Irish 100m breaststroke record on Monday, achieving a time of 58.90 in the semi-final. He will compete in Tuesday's final. Great Britain's Adam Ramsay-Peaty and Filip Nowacki also reached the 100m breaststroke final.
