Britain's George Staines has secured a UFC contract following a decisive 61-second victory over Loai Abushaar in Dana White's Contender Series. The 26-year-old lightweight, who trains in Liverpool, finished the fight with ground-and-pound after slamming Abushaar to the floor.
UFC president Dana White praised Staines, stating, "It was one of the greatest finishes ever, you made it look easy - congratulations and welcome to the UFC."
This win extends Staines' professional record to 11 victories. He was among four fighters awarded a contract at the event in Las Vegas.
