Greenairy, a startup founded by Tanvi Thombre and Lakshya Saraf, is developing plant towers intended to clean workplace air by targeting toxic gases. The company plans to begin large-scale manufacturing after its test results are certified.
The plant towers are designed to draw in air, break down toxic gases, and release purified air. According to Saraf, this method cleans air faster and more effectively than conventional potted plants. Unlike some air purifier filters that require frequent changes, plants offer a natural solution without harmful byproducts or filter replacement.
Short-term pilots in Singapore, using RESET-certified air monitors, compared offices with Greenairy towers, medical-grade ionizers, and HEPA air purifiers. Greenairy's towers reportedly achieved the lowest VOC levels and removed them fastest, with an immediate 50% reduction in daily VOC average and peak levels during office hours. These results are expected to improve as the plants and microbes mature.
The startup's results have been validated by German firm TÜV SÜD and are set for publication. Greenairy expects to launch its first mass-produced towers and install them for customers in Singapore by the first half of 2027.
