Halle Berry's eldest child, Nahla Aubry, has defended her mother following child abuse accusations made by Berry's ex-husband, Olivier Martinez. Last week, Martinez accused the actor of physically abusing their 13-year-old son, Maceo, resulting in a temporary restraining order being granted against Berry.
In an October 3 Los Angeles Superior Court declaration, 18-year-old Nahla stated she has never observed her mother physically abuse Maceo, her half-brother. Nahla described her mother as a "loving and devoted parent" who is "warm, supportive and deeply involved." She added, "I have never seen my mom hit, slap, choke, grab, or physically abuse Maceo in any way."
Berry, in a declaration filed October 5, denied the allegations, stating, "I have never physically, emotionally, or otherwise abused Maceo." Martinez's petition to the court alleged that Berry caused him "emotional and mental distress due to physical abuse of our minor child, Maceo," and claimed an incident on September 26 where Berry allegedly choked Maceo.
