Harry Kane is ready to begin discussions with Bayern Munich regarding a contract extension. The England captain is now in the final year of the four-year agreement he signed when he joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2023 for £86.4 million.
Kane confirmed in a video broadcast by Kicker that talks are expected to commence soon. He stated, "We obviously said we wanted to talk after the World Cup and after my holiday. So I’m not sure exactly when, but they’ll start this week, next week… we’ll start those talks." He added that both sides are "calm" about the situation.
The 33-year-old striker recently rejoined Bayern's squad ahead of Saturday’s Supercup match against Borussia Dortmund. Last season, Kane netted an impressive 61 goals in 51 outings across all competitions for Bayern, earning him the Bundesliga top scorer award for the third year in a row.
During this summer's tournament in North America, Kane surpassed Gary Lineker's record to become England's leading World Cup scorer, achieving 14 goals in 18 appearances. However, England exited the World Cup in the semi-finals after a defeat by Argentina.
