Heathrow rail services disrupted by tunnel closure

Railway services to Heathrow Airport are experiencing severe disruption today, 10 August 2026, due to a tunnel closure for safety reasons.
- No Elizabeth line services are running between Hayes & Harlington and Heathrow Terminals 4 and 5 until the end of Monday.
- Heathrow Express trains are reduced by 50%, operating two trains an hour from London Paddington.
- Network Rail attributes the disruption to a water leak limiting services to one line.
Railway services to Heathrow Airport are facing significant disruption today, 10 August 2026, following the closure of a tunnel for safety reasons, according to Network Rail.
There will be no Elizabeth line services between Hayes & Harlington and Heathrow Terminals 4 and 5 until the end of Monday. Heathrow Express trains are also affected, with a 50% reduction resulting in only two trains an hour operating from London Paddington.
Network Rail stated that "major disruption is expected until the end of the day" due to a water leak that is limiting services to a single line. Tickets will be accepted on the Piccadilly line and on bus routes 105, 278, 350, and 482.
Separately, railway services to Gatwick Airport are also disrupted due to a fire on the line near Purley in south London.
