Ms Pankhurst, who leads the cross-party coalition Centenary Action, stated her aim to reconcile the legacies of Emmeline and Sylvia Pankhurst. Centenary Action's shared cause is to dismantle barriers to women's participation, selection, and retention in politics.
Relatives of Emily Wilding Davison and Alice Hawkins were also in attendance. Ms Pankhurst noted that remembering past sacrifices involves protecting the rights that have been won and building on those struggles, particularly as the centenary of equal franchise in 2028 approaches.
