Mohamed Belloumi came close to securing a winner for Hull, striking the crossbar in the second half. Mohamed-Ali Cho and Oli McBurnie also had late opportunities. For Aston Villa, it was a third consecutive match without scoring, despite early chances from Nicolas Jackson and later efforts from Ross Barkley and George Hemmings.
