The pre-Halloween horror film "Other Mommy" has been released in cinemas today, 9 October 2026. The movie, directed by Rob Savage, is an adaptation of Josh Malerman's novel "Incidents Around the House."
Universal, the film's distributor, chose to withhold "Other Mommy" from critics until its opening day. This decision was made despite significant online buzz generated by its viral trailer, which accumulated over 30 million views on YouTube.
The film stars Jessica Chastain as Ursula, a working mother, and Arabella Olivia Clark as her young daughter Bela. Chastain also portrays the demonic double of Ursula, who attempts to impersonate Bela's mother.
