Hull City has been fined £30,000 by the Football Association (FA) following discriminatory chanting during their 4-0 FA Cup defeat by Chelsea in February. The club has also taken action by issuing bans to three supporters for a minimum of three years.
The FA charged Hull City with failing to ensure its spectators did not use improper, offensive, or abusive language with a reference to sexual orientation. The club accepted the charge.
Ahead of Saturday's Premier League fixture against Chelsea, Hull City has reminded all supporters that discrimination is unacceptable. The club stated that the chant in question is recognised as a homophobic slur and its use may constitute a hate crime, warning that those using it could face arrest and criminal charges.
