Interpol frontman Paul Banks has confirmed he is collaborating on a new album with a band he formed in Berlin, which includes Aaron Hemphill from Liars. The project also features Raife Burchell from London.
Banks, who has relocated to Berlin, revealed in an interview with The Berliner that he has been working on this record in the city for the past three years. He expressed hope for a release next year, although the band currently lacks a label.
Banks has known Hemphill since Liars toured with Interpol in 2004, and Hemphill also resides in Berlin. This new venture follows Banks' previous work with the supergroup Muzz and his two solo albums, released under the moniker Julian Plenti and his own name.
