Apple has launched iOS 27, featuring a long-awaited overhaul of its Siri assistant. The new Siri is built on Google's Gemini models, replacing its previous version, and includes a new logo and transition animation.
Users can now make complex requests to Siri, such as asking multi-step directions, drafting messages, and retrieving on-screen context. Siri also has access within the Camera app, allowing users to ask questions about visible objects.
The update also introduces Apple Intelligence, which powers features like natural language shortcut creation and smart suggestions for adding event or location information to Calendar or Notes. The Passwords app can now automatically change passwords on behalf of the user.
Other quality-of-life improvements in iOS 27 include a new clipboard feature for pasting content across apps, adjustable transparency for the Liquid Glass design, and intelligent network switching that automatically moves between Wi-Fi and mobile data if connection issues arise.
Child safety features have also been added, including a new setup flow recommending essential apps, parental controls for schedules and time limits, and notifications for new website access.
