Photographer Jerry Hsu has shared insights into his photograph, 'Devil Smoke', captured in downtown Los Angeles in 2011 or 2012. Hsu described black smoke emerging from a street grate, which he speculated was due to something underground being on fire.
Hsu also discussed his new book, 'How About Never', published by MACK. He noted that the book's photographs span the period from when he met his wife until their marriage ended earlier this year. Hsu stated that the book is also about his relationship with his wife.
He explained that the book contains photographs of both significant events and smaller details, aiming to capture the contradictions found in a relationship, including themes of fire, water, destruction, hope, and beauty.
